2012 was a year of big change for our family. We moved! We bought a new home in San Ramon. It was very hard to say goodbye to the only home I had known and all our friends there. But by the end of the year I was glad we moved!

I turned 13 in April. Went to Boomers with my friends. That was a lot of fun!

In school news, I finished my 7th grade at Thornton. I had some really good times there like going to Disneyland and Great America with the band, taking part in the school play, being nominated for the US achievement academy yearbook by Ms. Miller, attending the various school dances and so on.
Joined 8th grade at Gale Ranch Middle School in fall. I was very nervous going to a new school. But the new school with all its modern facilities, wonderful teachers, and students helped me fit in really quickly. I made a lot of new friends. I got much more self sufficient in managing my school work and ended the first semester with a 4.0.

I spent two weeks of my summer at Stanford doing the Creative Writing EPGY camp. That was an amazing experience. My first time living away from home. That too in an actual college dorm.

Rest of the summer was spent in India. It was nice seeing my extended family again. We did some small trips just by ourselves too, to Kochi and Munnar.

The move also meant finding a new piano teacher. Ms. Nora is not as good as Ms. Sylvia but I continue my music education. I am pretty good at sight reading and playing any music on the piano. I still go to Julissa in Newark for singing classes. We put most of my other outside school classes on hold. But I did join Math Counts, Science Bowl, Chorus, and Debate after school clubs. I joined CJSF and really enjoyed volunteering both in and outside school.
